Goodbye Steve.

He defines life right now so well...

"Again, you can't connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something, your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. This approach has never let me down, and it has made all the difference in my life."

Lotsa West's in Texas

Well, it's day 59 of over 100 degree weather here in lovely Dallas
...survival mode officially in effect.
Other than the heat...we followed Chris & Britt to Houston and helped them move in to their new apartment, then went back a few days later for Doctor West's White Coat Ceremony. Such a fun time for them.
We've also had a few friends in town for work or family reasons. Bluebell shakes with Jess Herc and Mexican plus boutique-ing with Cate T. Good friends are some of life's greatest comforts. Love them.

This is the place.

Remember how we moved away from Utah? Ya that was a great idea. Psych.
But, at least we get to visit. Hughie was so excited to spend his birthday weekend with his family. Rock climbing, hiking, golfing, swimming, BBQing...great weekend. It's harder to leave every time we go back. What a gorgeous place.
Some fun pictures from the weekend...enjoy.

And HAPPY ANNIVERSARY to Britt & Chris!
We love you!

Happy Birthday to the most amazing man I know!

This world has been a better place for the past 28 years with you in it
and I just feel lucky to be part of the last five.
Here's to you babe.
Love you.
I had to put this picture on here...haha

HOT HOT HOT

There is no refuge from the heat in this place. Even the pools and lakes are 95 degrees. We stayed with Anthony & Dominic this weekend while their parents vacationed. Cute cute kids. Lots of time in the sunshine. We took them out boating for their first time. They LOVED it. Ahhhh...Texas summers make me smile.

THE AMAZING RACE!

One of my friends that I work with has been trying to convince Hugh and me to audition for the Amazing Race for the past 6 months. I usually just roll my eyes at him and the discussion ends. Last week he made me look it up and, kind of weird, but there was an open call casting ONE MILE from where we work! We basically had to go. So I got there at 3am on Friday morning and camped out with a bunch of Amazing Race loonies...by the way I have NEVER even seen a minute of the show...and some of these people drove like 15 hours just to audition. I was afraid I was going to get beat up for not being a die-hard fan. So 11 hours later the auditions began and I called Hugh, who drove over quickly from work, and we had our one minute on camera to audition and then...it was over. HAHAHAHA. It was so fun though. So Jim, if you are reading this - Thanks for bugging us to try out. We had a great time. AND we are crossing our fingers that we make the cut!!!!!

Today...

No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problems

I always knew I liked Kenny. But after his concert this weekend, I LOVE Kenny. So much fun to sit up close with my mom, Julia, Nat, Mads & Britt. Turns out I know more of his songs than I thought. The perfect evening. Thanks Julia! More pics to come.
Oh and Billy Currington...turns out he's super cute-and kinda looks like my husband.
Guess that's a good thing :)SLC farmers market and a walk down memory lane with Cathy.
My mom's old duplex on Logan Ave. She lived there in her 20s...love this.
Lunch with Heids. Obviously. How can you not love this city...
Oh and how can I forget the surprise appearance by the Chairman and Daneger...
Dinner at Porcupine always satisfies.

Join Cathy in the fight against breast cancer.

This is my beautiful mother. She is walking the 3-day for Breast Cancer again this year. She did it in 2007 with her closest friend Ginny who was just recovering from the disease at the time. Since then the number has grown to 15 of her close friends from throughout her life that have been diagnosed with breast cancer. SCARY! She will be walking for 3 days straight, for 20 miles a day, and camping in tents at night. I have included her letter and information below and if you click on this link, Click here to visit my personal page. you can read more and support her. Just wanted to share what she is doing and how proud I am that she is using her health to support those without it.

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!

Good to be back on American soil to celebrate Independence Day. Ward breakfast, pool time, BBQ, Guatemalan rum cake, topped off with fireworks at the lake...
